Northern Ohio and Western Railway (reporting mark NOW) is a railine owned by OmniTRAX located in Northwest Ohio. It is based in Tiffin, Ohio, and operates between Tiffin and Woodville.
It originally was a Pennsylvania Railroad (PRR) line that traveled from Toledo to Mansfield. Most of the railroad line south of Tiffin has been abandoned except for a few mile stretch that once went to Republic elevator. In 1959 Carrothers to Mansfield was abandoned by PRR. In 1984 Tiffin to Carrothers was abandoned by Conrail. Today only 21 miles of the line is NOW. The other half of the line is owned by CSX. The line starts in Woodville where the Toledo subdivision ends there and ends in Tiffin right on the CSX's Williard Subdivision.
The railroad had serviced the once former American Standard plant located on Maule Road. The train is active once or twice a week. It was bought from Conrail in 1995. This was 4 years before the other half of the line was taken over by CSX. This purchase of a portion of line code 3612 from Conrail consisted of properties and tracks as shown entirely or in part on Connecting Railway Valuation Section 2-OH, maps 36 thru 61; formerly Toledo Columbus & Ohio Railroad Valuation Section 13-OH, maps 36 thru 61.
